| D.A.D.A. broadly focuses on preparing the student so that they may be able to—if such need arises—magically defend themselves against things pertaining to the Dark Arts. You will learn about evil and unfriendly spells and trinkets and how to protect yourself against them. You will learn how to defeat dark, magical beasts and you will also study curses and things of that sort.

Year 5 Lesson 1 - Protego (Shield Charm) The Shield Charm is a moderately difficult spell. most adult wizards cannot produce an effective one in a combate situation.The Shield Charm is a term applied to several varieties of charmsthat create a magical barrier to deflect physical entities and spells. Conjurations may sometimes rebound directly off it back towards the caster, or, in other cases, may ricochet off in other directions or dissipate as soon as they hit the shield.

1.Practice the the charm in pairs. ( with one using the simple Petrificus Totalus (Full Body-Bind) and the other attempting to block it with a shield charm.)
2. have you and your partner research together an instance where the shield charm is mentioned in Harry Potter and send your findings to me via owl.
3. send to me (via owl) the differences between the Variations of Protego. | |
